Privacy policy
What Democracy Game Over stores on your phone, what Google Play Games shares with it, and how to delete it.
The short version:
- Your progress is saved on your phone. No server of ours receives it.
- If you sign in with Google Play Games, Google shares your Play Games player ID and display name with the game, so it can show that you're signed in.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We don't sell or share personal data.
- Nothing can be bought in the game today. If that changes, Google Play will handle payment.
1. Who we are
Democracy Game Over (the “game”) is a mobile game published on Google Play under the package name com.index.demosimulator by madeit.cool (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data the game and this website handle, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to every version of the game and to this website.
2. What the game stores on your phone
The game keeps two small records in its private storage on your device. They exist so you can close the game and carry on where you left off. Neither is sent to us.
| Record | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Save file | Your stage, coins, gems, energy, upgrades, the heroes and weapons you own, and the times energy and Patrol last refilled. | To keep your progress between sessions. |
| Settings | Whether sound is on or off. | To remember your choice. |
Uninstalling the game or clearing its data in Android's settings deletes both records. If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may copy the game's data into that backup and restore it on a new phone. Google runs that backup under its own privacy policy, and we can't see it.
3. Google Play Games sign-in
On Android, the game uses Google Play Games Services. If you have a Play Games profile, Google may sign you in automatically when the game opens. If it doesn't, you can tap “Sign in” yourself. Signing in is optional, and the game plays the same without it.
When you're signed in, Google gives the game:
- your Play Games player ID, a code that identifies your Play Games profile within this game;
- your Play Games display name, the gamer name you chose, which may not be your real name.
The game uses these only while it's running, to show that you're signed in. They aren't written to the save file and aren't sent to us. The game can also ask Google for a one-time code meant for future online features, such as cloud saves or purchases. No server of ours receives that code today. Before we add any feature that sends data to us, we will update this policy and tell you in the game.
Google processes your Play Games data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can change your Play Games profile and visibility, or delete it, in the Play Games settings on your phone or at myaccount.google.com.
4. What we don't collect
The game contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting libraries of ours. It doesn't read your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or advertising ID. It asks Android for three permissions, and these are what they're for:
- Internet access and network state, so Google Play Games can sign you in.
- Wi-Fi state, a default of the game engine that the game doesn't use to collect anything.
Google Play itself collects data when you find, install and run apps, and it may give us aggregated statistics such as install counts. If you've chosen to share diagnostics with app developers, it may also give us anonymous crash reports. That data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
5. When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to answer you, and delete it once your request is handled, after 24 months at the latest.
6. Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share personal data. The only other company involved is Google, as described above. We would disclose information only if the law required it.
7. Children
The game is political satire with cartoon slapstick, and it isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, laws such as Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27 Tahun 2022) or the EU's GDPR give you the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Here is how to use those rights:
- To delete your progress, clear the game's data in Android's settings, or uninstall the game.
- To stop sharing your Play Games identity, sign out of Play Games or delete your Play Games profile.
- For anything we hold, which in practice means your emails, write to democracy@madeit.cool. We reply within 30 days.
You can also complain to the data-protection authority where you live.
9. Security
Your save file sits in the game's private storage, which other apps can't read. Because it lives on your device, a screen lock and keeping your phone up to date are what protect it.
10. This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Its fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when you visit. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, page and time, for security, and deletes them on a rolling basis.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change affects what data the game collects, we will also tell you in the game before it takes effect.
